Accessibility at KC2H
At Hearts Collective, accessibility is something we're always working towards. We believe that it's impossible to be fully accessible to everyone, as everyone's needs are different, however we always do our best to make our space as accessible as humanly possible! Here's some info about King Charles II House (KC2H)'s accessibility:
-
There is level access into the building via a ramp with a handrail, and level access throughout.
-
We have an accessible toilet, a potty and a stool for small children, and all our toilets are gender-neutral.
-
There are plenty of seats of differing heights throughout the space.
-
We have a state-of-the-art sensory room which anyone of any age or ability is welcome to use.
-
We have several pairs of ear defenders, and we are always willing to turn lights and sound up or down, depending on need.
-
Some of the internal doors are heavy, but our volunteers are always willing and able to help open doors if needed.
-
We have many signs throughout the building to aid those who struggle with their memory.
-
We don't have a hearing loop yet, but we are hoping to secure the funding to fit one in the space soon.
If you have any suggestions of how we can improve our accessibility, please get in touch!
